Is
it possible to switch classes after arrival?
It is possible but somewhat complicated. You must contact the resident
director immediately who will have to coordinate the transfer with your
home university. Your university must approve the switch so that we can
ensure that your credits will transfer. If switching credit classes is
not possible we can explore other options such as additional outside
help from a tutor.
How much time will I spend
in class?
The amount of class time varies according to subject matter and course
level. Intensive language classes meet for four hours five times a
week. Other classes meet on a schedule similar to that of an American
university with classes meeting once a week for 3 hours or twice a week
for 1 and a half hours each.
Are some classes taught in
English for beginners?
No. Our philosophy is that full immersion in the Spanish language will
be more beneficial to you in the future as you will finish the program
with language skills that you can apply to the rest of your life. If
you want to take classes such as Argentine History, Chilean Politics or
South American literature then we suggest that you apply for multiple
sessions. This way you can concentrate on Spanish fluency during the
first session and on topics of your choosing during the following
sessions.
